Some of you may be familiar with AgLoCo, the for company that was preparing to launch. The idea was that it would pay people to allow a banner to be on their screen as they surf the web. The banner would show advertisements, much like a stock ticker, and users could click on the ads that interested them. Sounds pretty promising, right? So what happened? Well, here’s the story…

AgLoCo was started by the folks who were the masterminds of the highly successful mid-90′s startup, AllAdvantage. AllAdvantage followed the same format, and offered many a nice check each month for letting the banner run and referring friends. It paid, get this: 1 cent for each hour you were on. No big deal, but with 10 referrals, I was getting a check for 50 per month with only half of them meeting the max on the hours allotted per month. Some of my friends who had started early and built their referrals where getting between $200 and $1,000 at the end of the month. So, you can understand why I was looking forward to a possible repeat.When it didn’t happen, needless to say, it was a disappointment. Thankfully, AgLoCo wasn’t the only thing I was working on.

So what’s the point? Be sure to leave your options open when it comes to earning extra income online. If you are with one PTR, PTC, or banner company, try a business opportunity to compliment it. There is always the chance that a startup could succeed or fail, so be sure to get prepared for both when you’re looking at the options in front of you.
