Last week I was hammered with promotional letters from Tesco. Three letters in one week? I never had so many. And all of them were advertising this Tesco Plus super saver scheme for £7.99 per month.
Honestly, I am not a massive fan of Tesco; I always felt that Tesco is overpriced comparing to other supermarkets. And I couldn’t see any difference in quality; thus no reason to pay more and I preferred to shop in other chain stores. And to pay a monthly subscription fee to shop with any store, it sounded silly for me. However, such an aggressive letter advertisement left wondering maybe I am missing something and thought it worth to look at this offer more deeply.
What do you get for £7.99 monthly fee with Tesco Plus?

Conclusion. Is Tesco Plus worth it?
It is no-brainer deal for those who regularly spend £100-£200 in a Tesco store. Even one weekly shop for £100 would recoup your monthly fee. Unfortunately, if you shop online, there is no benefit to you with this Tesco Plus scheme.
With the most recent announcement that Tesco will match Aldi on hundreds of products prices, means that many of Tesco’s own-brand products are now available for the same price as at Aldi.

It looks Tesco works hard to win back customers from its German rivals Lidl and Aldi. And adding Tesco Plus 10% discount on top of the price match, Tesco can be even cheaper than Aldi or other supermarket chains.
If you shop in Tesco, you have a big weekly shopping list and spend over a £100 at least once per month, you like Tesco own brand which now cost the same as in Aldi, you can save serious money. Tesco claims your savings can be up to £400 per year, only with Tesco Plus Clubcard scheme.
